Mural Photos

Academic Shoot Reflection

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos following the rules I set out for you?
I encountered the challenges of trying to find the right pictures for the specific rule.

2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most?
I think I'm pretty comfortable with the camera. I know how to focus, hold the camera, and applying  the specific rules.

3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?
I would take time to position the subject as best as I could so the rule would apply.

4. What things would you do the same?
Focusing the camera, and holding the camera.

5. When you go out with your next set of prompts, which rule do you think will be the easiest to achieve?
I think the easiest rule if framing, simplicity, and lines, and rule of thirds.

6. Which rule do you think will be the hardest to capture?
I think the hardest rule was balance.

7. What rule are you still not totally clear on and what can you do to figure out what that rule is?
I know the rules very well, and its pretty easy.

Academics Shoot

 Framing
1) I think I followed the rule well because the two computers make a "frame" to focus on the girl using the computer.
2) The subject on the picture is the girl.
3) I think the subject is very clear to other people, you just have to know what the rules are.
4) I think I followed the rule well.
Simplicity
1) I followed the rule well because the subject is in front of a clear background.
2) The subject is the student reading the book.
3) I think people can tell what the subject is in the picture.
4) I think I could have focused the picture better.
 Lines
1) I think I could have done better following the rule, but you can still see plenty of lines.
2) The subject is the student reading the book.
3) Im sure everybody can see what the subject is.
4) I think I could have placed the subject in a better position to see the rule better.
 Rule of Thirds
1) I think I followed the rule well because the girl is on the "line" on the Rule of Thirds.
2) The subject is the girl putting up the books on the shelves.
3) The subject is very clear in this photo.
 Balance
1) I think I followed the rule well because the person is "balanced".
2) The subject is the student shooting the basketball.
3) I think the subject is rather clear, you can tell what he is doing.
4) I think this photo would be better if the other people were not around, just him.
Avoiding Mergers
1) I think I followed the rule rather well. I was taking a picture of the boys shooting, but the girl in the bottom left merges into the photo.
2) The subject is the student in the red shirt shooting the ball.
3) I think its pretty clear what the subject is, but because the girl merges into the photo your looking at everybody.
